TCP/IP Protocols

The purpose of this course is to give the student an overview of how does Internet (TCP/ IP networks) work. Several notions will be presented, as basically and clearly as possible.
The first lesson concerns addressing. It presents how a machine is addressed in the Internet, from different points of view. The second one deals with the IP layer, defining the problematics of the network layer and exposing the solutions provided by IP. The third one tackles the transport layer problematics, mainly the end-to-end paradigm. Finally, the last lesson gives an overview of the most commonly used Internet applications.
