A limited-availability group is a group divided into some identical subgroups.
Let us consider a limited-availability group which is featured in the following
structural parameters (see Figure 11):
- k – number of subgroups in a group,
- f – capacity of a subgroup (the number of channels in the subgroup),
- V – total capacity of the group (
V = k .
The system services a call — only when this call can be entirely carried by the
resources of an arbitrary single subgroup.
The states probabilities in the limited-availability group are approximated by
the generalised Kaufman-Roberts recursion (10), where the conditional
probabilities of passing
i(n) are calculated by the combinatorial method
presented in the next part of this Lesson.
